Within clinical trials, there is optimism that connected wearables, sensors and other medical devices can be used to collect novel endpoints to give greater insight into a study subject’s health status and to further the understanding of the safety and efficacy of investigational products. There is also some hesitation around connected sensors due to the lack of formal guidance from regulatory authorities. In addition, the understanding of the benefits, challenges and operationalization of connected sensors and wearables in clinical trials is still in its infancy, as are the platforms that can help decode the collected data in order to provide clinical insights. This webinar will examine the opportunities and challenges presented by wearables and sensors in clinical development, discuss key considerations for implementation, and share the experiences and results of a recent pilot project. During this webinar you will learn about: •Trends in the development of wearables and sensors for mHealth (mobile health) •Opportunities to deploy connected devices in clinical trials •Challenges – regulatory, operational, scientific technical, logistical, patient acceptance, etc. •Key considerations for implementation •A case study of the exploration of sensing devices as study endpoints
