PAREXEL - Drew Garty on the Importance of Data Driven Monitoring

April 24, 2015
Data-driven monitoring is so important to our customers today because it brings about all of our analytic and research and focuses that on our overall operational expertise. What it does is it gives us the ability to improve quality while simultaneously reducing costs to achieve that quality. PAREXEL is able to leverage data driven monitoring by bringing those complex algorithms into the hands of the monitors who can actually evoke a positive change in the people we’re trying to influence. The key is not just in signal detection but also in changing human behavior to improve quality and performance, yielding quality, patient safety and overall study performance. The Partnerships in Innovation award really validates our fundamental belief that the power of data is not in the analytics but really in our ability to transform that into meaningful behavioral change. Monitoring is, in part, signal detection, but is predominantly about motivating sites to improve their quality and their site performance. This is why monitoring is still a very human endeavor.
